run baby run !!! [08 Nov 2009|09:11pm]

finally i'm done with the 15km New Balance Real Run :)
it was shitty during the run but the post feeling was great
last time i ever ran in an event was back in August
that's like so long ago and haven't been training ever since
not sure if i'm ever going to run again this year
if not maybe next year running on more events
so total mileage for this year is 61km
it's so little and i need to run even more next year
that means i need to start training up real soon

satyameva jayathe [07 Nov 2009|09:04pm]

it's been 1 week since my return from India
Chennai is indeed a very intersting city
peaceful beach, classic temples, hectic roadsides
meeting the students opens our minds
meeting Prof Ashok was an eye opener
i'm sure going to visit the country again

end of ops morning glory and starting the future [16 Oct 2009|12:40am]

ops morning glory
a very delicate and tough operations to be done by srb personnels
with much planning while mostly based on luck many succeed
while the non fortunate few gets locked up in the dungeons
magical numbers to remember for the escape are 555 and 615
i used to be part of the ops but now it has ended for good
such a great feat escaping all the way up to level 7 unscathed

the future
it's hard to predict where precognitive dreams don't work
last rappelling session does give an idea
just look at the picture above and you'll know why (at least for scdf personnels)
the motto i always want to hear is "We Dare" and i want pips or crabs on my shoulders
see those bearing the tabs on their left arms is an inspiration for me
just amazed by how they can endure all the harsh trainings which seems merciless
this topic is almost certain but yet to hear or receive a reply at least for a stepping stone
maybe i'll just wait, patience is a form of endurance

flashover [07 Oct 2009|10:26pm]

last flashover training at the simulator
maybe a real one for me in the future (maybe not)
burns and scaldings are part and parcel of a firefighter
got my skin boiled which then turn reddish

i really need the job
not for money but for interest
and a prospective future as well

Rahul [28 Sep 2009|08:23pm]

i'm spending my off days from F1 standby to prepare for my Chennai trip
find some informations on tourism national sevice and social work
can someone please help me with these ? they're aren't my niche

anyway i went to Mustafa centre to find out about visa and Indian prepaid
and i walked along the streets and met Rahul, a fellow from Mumbai
he's working at a restaurant giving out flyers to passer-bys
i happend to past by the restaurant and greeted me with hospitality
from there we started our conversation which interest me
i got to know he's a native indian and told him i'm going to india

Rahul: Are you a tourist?
Me: No. I'm local.
Rahul: You look like one. In India, you will see alot of different people. You will think whether that person is Indian or not. Even you can be an Indian. You look like someone from Assam or Tibet. Different parts of India you go, you can see different people, skin colour, culture, languages, dress, food...
Me: Will the languages be a problem?
Rahul: 40% of Indian speaks Hindi while 8% speaks Emglish and India is the 2nd largest English speaker after USA. Espescially in South India, most people can speak English.
Me: Interesting. I would like to explore India maybe Mumbai next year.
Rahul: 6 days is not enough to explore India, you need at least 6 months. I grew up in Mumbai but I only covered 30% of India. You can travel from Chennai to Mumbai by train in 18 hours. India has got the largest network of trains after USA.

our conversation flowed like a game of tennis before i had to go off
a nice chat with an Indian before going India

time flies but it's so not convincing [16 Sep 2009|11:03pm]
Ramadan this year pass by at the speed of light
I spent most of the time in camp doing drills, projects, lepaking
people always say that time pass by fast when you're having fun
does that mean i'm really enjoying my time in camp
best still, the day freedom reigns will come fast
however, i still feel that this has been the slowest 2 months ever as ORD is approaching

adib and afzhal goes to dunkin donuts [01 Sep 2009|10:49pm]
an indian and a tibetan lookalike went to a foreign field to savour their tastebuds
what an adventure and mission at orchard road towards dusk
empty stomach, long walking journeys and getting conned
where hunting is impossible, we had to retrieve our resources fast
just to indulge on the heavenly pastries :)

a way much better run than the one in Brunei
2nd my maiden army half marathon 21km un
went all the way to the finishing without stopping

no proper training prior to the runs
therefore I was satisfied with the timings
last runs before fasting month begins
will only resume after that
but  just continue with light trainings

BA endurance [13 Jun 2009|10:02am]

a mini firemanship skills competition takes place at brtc among platoons
the ba endurance event espescially tests the mental capabilities of the firefighters
don the bunker gear complete with the ba set and facemask plugged on
place a 90kg dummy on the stretcher and lifting it up
walk 200m around the track with the stretcher above the shoulder
all this done at 11pm when the sun is at it's peak

i lead a section of kilat rescuers representing platoon 6
though the smallest among the competitors, i want to prove size doesn't matter
6 didn't have any trainings prior to the competition
while others have acclimatized themselves with sufficient trainings
6 didn't win we got disqualified and didn't complete the round
though i showed that we had done our very best
winning doesn't matter it's the participation that counts
he had our flaws mainly our communication breakdown and pacing
the main thing is it's a win for BRAVO !!!

bat i my dorm [10 Jun 2009|08:48pm]

a fruit bat came into my dorm and flew around
the dorm was like a big cage for the creature
it could be a demon though send by a bomoh
so we had to get rid of it as we fear it might suck our blood while we're sleeping
it was caught at last and released, it flew towards the cemetry for its freedom

i just sign up for the republic 5km competitive run
and i'm going for the army half marathon which is 21km
crazy i would say but there's a feeling of satisfaction after the run
